BETWEEN THE LINES
The Reconnection Newsletter

Welcome to this month’s issue of Between the Lines

Happy New Year to everyone. We hope this message finds you well and that you’ve all begun the year on a high note with family and friends, bringing in new energy. As we look to the year ahead, we thought we’d take a moment to share some of the highlights to come and to take a moment to collectively and individually think about what kind of practices we all would like to have and grow.

At The Reconnection, our practice is about teaching and sharing the light and information of Reconnective Healing with the planet, and this year will take us to many new places, including eight new countries. For the first time we will be bringing the work to Holland, Sweden, Scotland, the Czech Republic, New Zealand, Belgium, Israel and Mexico.

There are a few other highlights for the coming year. For the first time, we’ll be bringing our Mastery Conference to Europe! This conference is quite probably one of the most powerful things we will do all year long, and this year’s program in Hamburg is headlined by none other than Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton and John Demartini. As you can easily imagine, this will be an amazing breakthrough for all of Europe!

Before we get to Hamburg however, Eric will be a presenter at The International Conference of Science and Consciousness in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This five-day event from March 28 – April 2 contains one of the most powerful gatherings of authors, scientists and forward thinkers on the planet and definitely should be considered by all on the path of higher consciousness.

Our seminar schedule officially kicks off in March include: Phoenix, Romania, Istanbul and Amsterdam. Then, in April we travel to Tokyo, Prague, Spain and San Francisco. For a full listing of our events, visit www.TheReconnection.com.

Of course, we’ll alsways continue to deepen the presence of the work in countries where we’ve already been teaching, and that of course, is where we all share the mission, in our own individual practices and communities. Let’s turn our attention to our own practices with Pat Atanas, our own expert in developing and managing practices.

Having been a management coach for over 30 years to wellness health professionals, our Practice Development Director, Pat Atanas, not only enjoys helping others to grow their practices, but she has also been applying this knowledge to her very own practice. In our opening message for 2008, she shares some methods for you to apply and help to bring Reconnective Healing® and the Reconnection® to people other than family members and personal friends.

The Triune of Practice Growth

The Triune of Life is a balance of Mental, Physical and Spiritual. Please consider how balance in your practice can help bring balance to the planet.

Growing Your Practice Mentally

Visualize. As you start this year, you should have an idea of how many people you are going to reach and how you are going to do it. Whether you are planning to manage a full or part time practice, have a number in mind of how many people you want to see in a week, a month, a year. By doing this, you get a picture of what is necessary to help create the daily, weekly, and monthly steps necessary to achieve your goals.

Map out a calendar that has a deadline for each of these steps. For example; WHEN will you own a table, WHERE are you going to do your sessions, WHO are you going to tell about this (specify names), WHAT action steps will put you in front of more people and finally HOW are you going to help others understand about this work?

Growing Your Practice Physically

Regardless of results, the full experience your patients/clients have is key to what and if they will tell others about your services. Keeping professional procedures in place is an important piece toward creating the respect that people will have. Here’s a list of just some of my constant must-dos;

  1. Answer the phone professionally during appropriate hours.
  2. Stick to pre-determined “practice hours” based upon your schedule.
  3. Get all data including name, address, e-mail and phone number up front when scheduling the appointment.
  4. If you have a home practice, have a professional sign that tells others “Session in Progress, Do Not Ring Bell” while you are in session.
  5. Make sure you have a seating area where someone CAN wait if you are running behind schedule.
  6. Make sure all phones are “off” or voice mail only during session times.
  7. Complete all paperwork such as the waiver form and collect your fee prior to the session.
  8. Know body positions before you start a session (navel, knees, elbow, etc.)
  9. Have bottled water and tissues available in the session room.

The above may not seem important, yet trust me, it makes each session run smoothly and uninterrupted.

Educate people. In order to talk about the work, you need to have your own stories to tell. This is not simply what you had experienced or enjoyed as a participant in a seminar, but also you need to share your own experiences as a practitioner. Many people say, “I don’t know how to talk about it.” What are words that mean anything other than those that are your own? Tell others the truth based upon what you believe, in addition to what you have seen. Talk about what you KNOW and FEEL. These are the only words that people will listen to and truly learn from.

Keep a supply of Eric’s books handy to sell or for possibly lending to others. You might also consider inviting people over to view the Essence Lecture DVD. It is a great and easy way to start the education process and also opens up an opportunity for you to start telling your own story.

Be Visible. Have ways for people to find you. The practitioner directory was the key factor in jump-starting my practice and continues to generate a flow of patients on an on-going basis. Referrals and handing out my business cards are the other main factors that keep my practice generating the amount of clients I want to see in my allowable time frame.

Growing Your Practice Spiritually

Recognize truth. One of the hardest things each practitioner has to realize is that this work is not about them. Are you able to let go of an ego-based idea that you are a healer and face the reality that you are merely part of an equation? Do you fully understand that healing does not come from you, nor will you have anything to do with its outcome? It comes from a much Higher Source, and your role is to be thankful that you have been chosen as a vehicle for the person on the table to receive what is intended. Have you let go of expectations? Do you know that during a session whether someone registers, does or does not have an experience now or later that what is to unfold, will? A True practitioner knows all of these things. In growing yourself practice spiritually, you must see yourself as a true Reconnective Healing practitioner of this work.

The true Reconnective Healing practitioners are those who are led to this work and accept its simplicity.

The true Reconnective Healing practitioners are those who don’t overthink it or try to make it something else.

The true Reconnective Healing practitioners know it is not about them.

The true practitioners educate and bring Reconnective Healing and the Reconnection to others in its purest form, with the respect it deserves.

The true practitioners want to help their colleagues bring this work forward and share it in integrity with as many as they can.

Thank you for being True Reconnective Healing Practitioners, and I look forward to assisting that journey with you all in 2008!
